Tim,

You need to play *LOTS* of clarinets before you make the decision about =
what to buy. You might surprise yourself and find one that IS worth =
$995.00 more than your Conn. I think I "might" be able to find =
something better than your Conn. It would have to be a pretty darn good =
Conn to beat out today's new instruments.
