Lori, it is available only on rental and no excerpts of it appear in any
of the traditional excerpt books. In fact, there is not such pieces as
"the suite from the Miraculous Mandarin." The conductor has to decide
where to cut. When we did this work about 15 years ago in San Jose, I
was the librarian of the orchestra, and we put a sign on the door that
said, "Miraculous Mandarin Crisis Center."

The first clarinet part is very soloistic (unless that part is cut), but
the other parts are not overwhelmingly difficult. The biggest problem
is being told which sections are not in the suite. The piece itself is
really rather long for a concert.
