The United States Naval Academy Band is proud to present the
Clarinet Choir in concert at 8:00 P.M., Saturday, October 18th, 2003, at
1st Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, Duke of Gloucester and Conduit
Streets, in Annapolis.
Musician First Class Marc Boensel conducts the ensemble through
a program featuring some of the world's better known composers. The
concert opens with Vaclav Nelhybel's "Chorale" followed by "In Praise of
Lofty Intellect" from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" by Gustav Mahler. "Piece
En Sol Mineur" features the extraordinary talents of the band's new
principal clarinetist, Musician First Class Lynda Dembowski. Also on
the program are "Angelus" by Jules Massanet, "Clarinet Poem" by Lucien
Cailliet, and the bolero-like arrangement, "Piece En Forme De Habanera"
by Maurice Ravel. The program concludes with the rhythmic and exciting
"Musicale" by David Uber. This ensemble performs but one time a year,
so don't let this exciting opportunity pass you by!
All Naval Academy Band concerts are free of charge and open to the
public with no tickets required. For concert information, visit our
website at www.usna.edu/USNABand or call (410) 293-0263.

Very Respectfully,
