Or someone like me, with a nice pair of old clarinets (c.1980) which are
of a nice standard and which I would love to see used by a son or
daughter of mine. I'd be happy playing them myself, so they aren't "past
it" one jot. (Before anyone asks why I don't play them, I am happier
playing my RC's. It a case of good against very good!)

OK Randy, so what happens when a clarinet playing/teaching Mom like me
comes
in and says, "I want my daughter to have a certain type of clarinet, a
certain mouthpiece and reeds I have already prepared for her of a brand
and
strength of my choosing. What do you do? Certainly you must have had
this
happen? I can tell you I would highly object if you tried to tell me
how my
child ought to start and what equipment she "ought" to use. Also, I
probably would have already taught her years before how to produce a
sound
and put the instrument together. My kids have both been doing that
since
about the age or 6 or 7-and younger with my supervision. What do you do
in
that type of situation?
