Of course, it probably goes without saying (but I'll put it in for the
record) that all of the recommendations you've gotten make assumptions =
about
the mouthpieces the students are playing that need to be evaluated case =
by
case. I doubt if even a complete beginner could get much that is =
acceptable
with a #2 of any brand if he happens to wander in with a Gigliotti P =
that
someone gave him. Put a significantly more open or shorter facing on =
his/her
clarinet and even a #3 may be too stiff. Since you're talking about =
private
school and home school pupils whose families probably have more money to
spend on their equipment, almost any mouthpiece could show up in these
students' cases.
