While I don't doubt either you or Mr. Opperman, such an experiment doesn't
really adequately demonstrate superiority of one fingering vs. another. It
demonstrated Mr. Opperman's preference based on his technique, control,
and the condition of his clarinet.

Other people's experience may (and do) vary. Learning multiple ways is
always a good thing - you can't ever have a big enough toolkit.
