It seems to me that this key is less attractive to right-handed
players. Comments from other lefties?

The player's age at first exposure to it probably makes a difference,
though. I'm a lefty and use it quite frequently, but I have trouble
selling the idea to my students, interestingly enough. Perhaps I'm not
selling aggressively enough? I seem to remember that the Rubank
Intermediate method has a bunch of exercises that make intelligent use
of this key.
