I will be going to California to play a concert with my sister,
flutist, Jane Lenoir next Saturday in Palo Alto. I will be playing
Ravel's "Introduction & Allegro" with Jane and harpist, Dan Yu, with a

Dear Friends,

Here's some info on a chamber music group which I formed with Violist
Mimi Dye. We're having our Debut Concert in Palo Alto, California,
Saturday, October 11th at 8 p.m. The program includes the Debussey Trio
Sonata, Bozza Image and Ravel Introduction and Allegro, plus an
arrangement of a new piece for jazz ensemble by Mimi Dye.

There'll be a reception with great French wines and hors d'oeuvres after
the concert. =20

Mimi has formed a new chamber ensemble of 11 professional musicians=20
performing classical, jazz and world music. They call themselves TOPAZ.

These are all world class musicians and soloists in their own right.=20
It is very exciting to have them all together sharing
their immense gifts in a local debut benefit concert in Palo Alto. =20

This concert entitled "French Impressions,"=20
will feature works by Composers Debussy, Ravel, Bozza and Faure
and a new jazz arrangement of Faure's "Pavane." =20

Instruments include Harp, Flute, Piano, String Quartet,=20
Clarinet and Jazz Trio.=20

Other members of TOPAZ are Jane Lenoir, flutist, Li Shan Hung, pianist,

Peter Barshay, jazz bassist and Melissa Lunden, jazz drummer.

Heather Hadlock, Associate Professor of Musicology at Stanford

will give a brief overview of "Impressionistic Music"=20
so that the audience can further appreciate the beautiful music
of the program.
