I found the speed my tongue moved to be quite amazing. I also was
surprised to realize that, for each syllable, the tongue more than one
movement, and they were in rapid succession. Also, the normal direction
of the tongue's movement is downward, then a flick upward. At least I
noticed it to be so with me.

IMO, I don't think we ARE normally aware of these things, so
concentrating on them certainly has value for a number of different
disciplines, including as has to do with understanding what is going on
inside the mouth when articulating while playing.
