In using the sliver key, IMO, the most important aspect in order to
minimize problems coming from finger size, is to open the key on the
"top" of it, rather than trying to keep the fingers "in line" so to
speak. This may be a bit awkward if one's fingers are tense, but I
found that it was quite a bit smoother, and kept my fingers (not
particularly thick, but the pads are not skinny, either!) from running
into each other.
