Bryan, the article doesn't say what they were earning before the
proposed pay cut. =A0 A friend of mine once told me what she earned in
an orchestra with collapsing schedule and failing finances. I felt
that she should've quit *before* the final pay cut arrived that caused
her to leave. =A0 The argument that "You could be worse off" doesn't
mean much if you're *already* in a desperate situation.

It's always sad when a musical organization can't pay a full salary.
Some people *are* willing / able to work in the public interest without
receiving the salary that their work merits, but that's a different
topic all together.
