Greetings Rebecca,

You ask a good question regarding scale ranges.
Basically you just need to know all the scales (usually major & all 3 minor) in the entire range of the clarinet. Thanks to Keith Lemmons, Professor of Clarinet at UNM, we have a standard for scale ranges in NM. Most of us now encourage
high school students to know the "extended scales" with the following ranges: (keys are transposed, not concert pitch)

C - up to G3 - down to low G- back up to low C
F - 3 octaves
Bb - up to F3 - down to low F - back up to low Bb
Eb - up to G3 - down to low G - back up to low Eb
Ab - 3 octaves
Db - up to F3 - down to low F - back up to low Db
Gb - 3 octaves
B - up to F#3 - down to low F# - back up to low B
E - 3 octaves
A - 3 ocatves
D - up to F#3 - down to low F# - back up to low D
G - 3 octaves

One very simple way to remember the ranges is to realize
that you continue up & down to either F, F#, or G in the
extentions.

Best of luck to you!
