Wide bore - Buffet and Leblanc have wider bores closer to the Alto -
hence the mouthpiece.

Selmer and Fox have narrow bores and use a Bb mouthpiece. They are more
historically correct.

I did have a 5RV on trial but didn't take to it. The Hite is what I use
now - a lot better.

No clarinets came to New York - the hand luggage regulations on Concorde
are VERY tight. No restrictions on the Queen of course - but that was
only on the way over.

To those I said I would possibly make contact with in New York -
apologies - I have spent almost all my time at the Lincoln Center - New
York Philharmonic on the 26th and then New York City Opera that same
evening and then matinees on the following two days - and the opening of
the Metropolitan tonight with Fleming singing Violetta in Traviata. I'm
not a fan of New York I'm afraid - I will only be coming back to catch a
plane after the Queen Mary......

Didn't you tell me you used a Vandoren 5RV mouthpiece? Or was that just
to
try and you switched to Hite?

Did you take any of your clarinets with you to New York? Why don't you
tell
us about what you have been doing.
