Subj: [kl] Clarinet Overhaul Hell: Thomas Ohme - The Woodwind Shop

I'm new to this list and just found other people's emails regarding Thomas
Ohme's service - or should I say, lack thereof? I sent a Leblanc Concerto
Bb Clarinet to him nearly 3 years (!!!) ago for an overhaul and still don't
have it back. I've sent literally hundreds of email messages to him, most
of which I never got a reply to. I had a legal professional send him
threatening letters. Nothing seems to get through to this guy. After
reading other people's accounts, I found some recurring issues. I also got
the 'lost keywork in the mail' story and he had to send them back to the
Leblanc factory etc. Now my clarinet is beyond repair (apparently) and he
has to replace it. Of course, this process is taking forever. He told me
almost a year ago he was going to replace it. I've heard all his sob
stories about how his wife left him and he was depressed and his business
was going to s**t and he needed someone to help him manage it. I've heard
it all. Basically all I can do at this point is sue him. I live in MD and
it's very difficult to travel to Milwaukee to do this. In the meantime I've
had to buy another clarinet since it's what I do for a living. DOES ANYONE
HAVE A PHONE NUMBER FOR THIS GUY'S SHOP??? There used to be one posted on
his website, though it was never answered. Now there's not one posted at
all. I'm starting to wonder if he's sold my instrument to someone and
making up all this BS about losing the keywork and having to replace my
clarinet. Anyone who can assist me in this matter? Thanks. Heather R. Van
Beek
