have a
need for one, but can't afford a new one again.
=20
I only have a budget of about $1000......I currently play a Buffet Bb=20
Festival clarinet and the logical choice would be to purchase a Buffet =
to try and=20
match the brand. Can anyone give me some opinions on mixing brands? =
Thanks for=20
any and all comments.>>>>

I think mixing brands is perfectly ok, especially since you don't play =
both=20
Bb & A on a daily basis, like someone with a full-time orchestra gig. I =
know=20
we've all been told to have the same brand for both these instruments, =
but it=20
seems that you, like me, only occasionally play the A. The difference =
in how=20
the horns blow I attribute to the different sizes of the instruments, =
not the=20
brands.

I have a Leblanc Concerto Bb and a Buffet R13A, and have no problem at =
all=20
playing them together, like in the Brahms Serenade my chamber group is =
working=20
on right now. This piece has A, Bb, and C clarinet parts. I mention =
the C=20
because I have a suggestion for an A clarinet in your budget, and it =
would be to=20
get a Tom Ridenour Arioso A clarinet.....my C clarinet is an Arioso, and =
I=20
payed around what you mentioned your budget is, and I am very happy with =
the=20
instrument. Peter Stoll on this list can also tell you about these =
horns. =20
Here's a link for Ridenour Clarinet Products <A=20
