You would not want to leave it soak for long, but a little water will not
hurt it all that much. Remember, the inside of a clarinet gets wet all the
time! And after such a washing, some bore oil all over the body would be a
good thing, to restore any that might have been washed away. Be sure to
DRY carefully, ESPECIALLY the springs. Blued steel springs will rust in a
heartbeat! In fact, a thin coat of oil on the springs is a good idea after
the bath, too.
