I'm sorry to hear that. I met him a few years ago at a convention of music
merchants. He met Leon Leblanc in France while he was over there as an
instrument repair tech with the Glenn Miller band during WWII. They
obviously hit it off, and eventually became business partners after the
war. Actually, he ultimately became President, and later Chairman of the
board, of the ENTIRE G. Leblanc Company.

I carry a Vito (with a Legere reed) around with me in my truck for sitting
in with school bands when I have the chance on my route. It plays much
better than, but does not get as many comments as, the metal clarinet I
have used in the past.
