Good question, Karl. I can't say I know. Since to me, both tone and intonation are better with other barrels, I never bothered trying to make these work. One of the A barrels had a lovely tone, but had serious intonation problems. The others were better replaced with a Moennig style taper. I eventually invented my own bore taper, which I prefer to anything I have tried. That taper was on the barrel I sold to Sue.

Im also back to using the same barrel on A and Bb, which about 6 months ago I said I abandoned. With the right mouthpiece chamber and bore, I found that this taper worked well on both my A and Bb, with excellent tonal results and improved intonation. (With a different style of mouthpiece, this did not work at all!) Goes to show you that in many ways, the mouthpiece and barrel need to be considered as a "team" and not always seperate interchangeable components.
