I've read worse things, Rebecca. I've written worse things. I also raised
or helped raise two teenagers and am involved in the life of a third, the
16-year-old son of my S.O. Except for one questionable word, big deal.
There's a term for this in cyberland: an "eeoops." Something intended to
be a private message gets spread out across the Western hemisphere. I once
sent a private note of (ahem) endearment to a woman that got itself onto a
poetry list read between the US and New Zealand and South Africa. It had
all the subtlety of a greeting in an Amsterdam whorehouse. Mortifying for
10 minutes, but ultimately no harm was done.
Don't sweat it. And I demand a postcard from Orlando.

wears very thin--then one experiences the supreme thrill of keeping a cat,
or perhaps allowing oneself to be owned by a cat."--Catherine Manley
