As I said I might, I got out my 1960 mono lp of Brymer and
Beecham playing K622 (for the first time in 25 years). The 2nd movement
is as close to perfect as it gets. Ditto the 3rd. As to the 1st, I think
that either the sound engineer was on wacky weed or Beecham was being his
occasional contrary self. The sound levels change for no apparent reason
and at one spot Brymer seems to lose breath. I don't own the CD version;
but I don't remember those problems. I guess CD technology is progress.
