I did a search on the woodwind.org bulletin board for discussions on how to
remove that yellow/greenish color Walter mentions. There was a
recommendation for a product called Gel Gloss. A cleaning agent that
contains petroleum distillates, morpholine and turpentine. Also has
carnouba waxes. I bought a 16 oz can of it from Lowe's couple years ago and
tried it on a discoloured mp. Worked very well - restoring the dark black
shine to my Portnoy BP02.. I followed directions on the can and then
buffed it up.

I worried about then placing the mp in my mouth because of all the chemicals
etc. Made sure I cleaned it up with lukewarm soap & water afterwards.
