the yani's are a kewl horn. Personally, on alto i prefer the 900, which was
their old semi pro model... don't know why, just like the tone.
I'm assuming you bought an alto, but you should get a sop if your hands
can't handel an alto. On sop, i'd go a yani 991 or a con chu berry. On alto,
a super balanced action or mark vi, both by selmer or a sml rev c or d.
But.... with the vintage horns, you'd probably find the hand positions a bit
dodgy, but the action should be lighter. If you're complaining about the
stiffness of the keys, any competent repairman should be able to adjust
this. Your low b could be that your pads are out of allignment, pretty
common, or that you've been playing too much clarinet! i often have a bit of
trouble getting a low b and Bb from a sax after playing clarinet.
