Strasser-Marigaux-LeMaire did not "merge" with King. King did, however,
import some SML instruments to sell under the "King-Marigaux" label. They
are basically identical to their regular production. I believe SML is
still in business, although they gave up trying to compete with Selmer in
the saxophone area. They are very popular in Europe for their oboes, and
last I heard still make a few clarinets. As I recall, the clarinets they
made under the "Marigaux" label were their best, the LeMaire and Strasser
brands being of lesser quality.
