Along the same line, I have something I would like as many comments as
possible.

My grandson's private instructor at university has made the statement, "Only
great performers make great teachers."

My opinion was that that's rubbish. Obviously, many great performers are
great teachers, but I've seen great players who couldn't teach and great
teachers who weren't great players. It seems to me to be about as valid as
all other generalizations. Opinions, please?
