I was going to make a similar comment, except my example was going to be
the person who lived in the Tennessee hills and never saw a 'real'
musical instrument or a sheet of music, but he or she created great
music with a washboard, or a tub+stick+wire or an empty bottle, or voice
& tap dancing, or whatever.
When people produce music that draws a crowd, but without the benefits
of printing presses, modern instruments, tuners, etc.... perhaps
**they** are the true musicians?
