Clark,
Many of us are playing Noblet C clarinets with stock 47mm barrels. I use a
Richard Hawkins' B facing mpc on my Buffet R-13 Bb and A instruments -- AND my
Noble C with very good results. I also use Guy Chadash barrels (fortunately
you can try out 10-15 each at Bob Gilbert's in Los Angeles).
While my Noblet is "acceptable" with the stock barrel (Helen Goode-Castro
actually borrowed it a couple years ago when she auditioned for the SF Opera
job), it still lacks the focus I get on my Bb and A with Chadash barrels.
So...are you designing your C clarinet barrels to work optimally with your
mpcs and barrels on Buffets, or might they "help" a Noblet C clarinet?
Thanks,
Don Gross
