Thanks, Walter, for your suggestion of a new barrel for a C clarinet
that has intonation problems. My Noblet C did have such problems with
every Bb mouthpiece that I tried on it. It was mostly the altissimo
range, also including high C (two lines above the staff), which was
flat. I purchased a Morgan C mouthpiece and those flat notes weren't
flat anymore. Perhaps a new barrel would have accomplished the same the
result, with the added benefit, as you pointed out, of not having to
move a reed from one mouthpiece to the other when changing clarinets.
