Subj: [kl] Steve White is worse than my mother
Date: Wed, 10 Sep 2003 18:11:00 -0400

Steve, I want to tell you about my mother. She said that the entire 2nd
World War was her fault. I'm not sure of her logic, but she believed
it. Then she went on to take the responsibility for Judge Crater's
dissapearance, the Lindburgh kidnapping, the depression of 1929, and the
breakup of Abbot and Costello.

None of this business about cadenzas is hitting on you. It is true you
started it off with a comment, about which I asked a question, then you
answered it perfectly satisfactorily, then I posted something else, and
the discussion may or may not take off. But that does not mean that you
should continue to write contrite letters as if this is all your fault.

You want guilt? I'll give you a zonk in the head and your eyes will
spin for a week. How about something like, "Ever since Steve has been
posting on cadenzas, I am feeling pains in my chest. I think I'll have
to call a doctor." That is classy stuff. Are you finding it hard to
breathe? Is the room spinning around?

You however, are not permitted to give yourself guilt. That is my
mother's job. She was a professional in that area, and at one point was
the east coast distributor for it. Is it possible, that you are a long
lost brother who inherited mom's guilt genes? If so, I want to thank
you because I am now off the hook.

And cadenzas are not really an option. You don't have any choice in
that arena. They are like guilt given to you by the composer. You must
accept it.

And "eingang" is the correct word. Now if you don't know the plural for
eingang, then I will give you a guilt trip all the way from here to
Poughkeepsie, one so severe that your nose will be stuffed up for a month.
