Hello, clarinetists.

Once again I am months behind in answering
a lot of people. On August 8th I finished writing
the "Sextet for Clarinet Ensemble" (Aug. 2003,
3 mvts., 18' 30"), and, yep, there's another Double
Fugue (my 5th), in the First Movement. The 3rd
Movement is a "Theme with 6 Concerted Varia-
tions", meaning that a different clarinet gets to be
a Soloist for a whole variation. Since then I have
made the Transposed Score, Parts Score, and
have finished most of the editing of each of the
Part Books.=20

Professor Joze Kotar and the Slovenian Clarinet
Sextet are the Dedicatees, but they will not have
time read through it until Spring 2004. In the
meantime, he is scheduled to premiere my "Sonata
No. 1 for (Bb) Clarinet and Piano" (June 2003, 4
mvts., 26 min.) in October 2003.

The reason why I specify the title of that work
in so much detail is, because I also have my "Sonata
for Unaccompanied Clarinet" (May 2002, 3 mvts.,
16 min.). Plus I am transcribing my Accompanied
Bass Flute Sonata as "Sonata No. 2 for Clarinet [in
C, Bb or A] and Piano" (May 2003, 4 mvts., 25 min.).
I hope to mail that to Professor Kotar soon, too.

I have given Professor Kotar the Premiere Rights
of some of these works, and therefore I can't show
those to anyone until after he has given the Premiere
Live Performance and / or Recording of them, at
his discretion. These include the:
"Sonata for Unaccompanied Clarinet",
"Sonata No. 1 for (Bb) Clarinet and Piano",
and "Sextet for Clarinet Ensemble".

But I CAN show the Bass Flute Sonata's tran-
scription, the "Sonata No. 2 for Clarinet [in C, Bb
or A] and Piano", to people, as soon as I get the
transcribed Part Books perfected. In fact, I'm
planning to send a few copies to a few friends, to
ask their opinions about it.

Now I gotta get back to work on the "Quintet
for Bb Clarinet, Violin, Viola, Cello and String
Bass" and the Clarinet Concerto, having started
both last year.=20
