I believe that this indicates that it is a Super Audio Compact Disc,
that also has the conventional compact disc-compatible audio on it as
well.

SACD is the new high quality format that is being put forth by
several manufacturers, so that I will be forced to buy all of the
works of Thelonious Monk again. Eventually these discs will have
mutiple channel data, similar to DVD audio.

There is an ongoing debate as to whether it is better than DVD.
