Hey everyone,

I recently posted a Pyne mouthpiece for sale on some clarinet/woodwind
sites. I just got an email regarding it, in poor English from a guy
claiming to be named Robin from London. But it seemed legitimate enough.
So I replied, saying that I had just posted it on Ebay, and he could get
all details there. Then I got the next message from him, which I pasted
below. From what I know this is a standard scam: you get a bogus check,
you deposit it, you send back some smaller amount with a legitimate check
before the bank discovers that it is fake (typically this can take a week
or two), and the person makes off with your real money. These people are
probably looking on niche sites like ours to run the scam. Don't fall for
it!

Here's the email:

Thanks for the information & response you gave, the say prices is ok for
the Pyne Signature M mouthpiece, sure looks good , like i told i am based
in london but presently on a business trip to Germany, however i intend to
pay with a cashiers check through my colleague in US that is owing me
$3,000 USD,i will instruct my colleague to send the check to you, when the
check clears ,you deduct the cost of the Pyne Signature M mouthpiece & as
for shipping that would be taken care of by me;and send what ever balance
to me.if you are willing to assist with this transaction, then provide me
with the name and address where you want the check sent.so that the check
will be sent immediately,as i will like to have this Pyne Signature M
mouthpiecepretty soon. Thanks once again....Robin.... Hoping to hear from
you soonest Thanks once again. Robin....

Umesh
