The Ekaterinburg Trio

The Ekaterinburg Trio-a violin-clarinet-piano ensemble from Russia-will
perform their last=20
concert of their current US Tour in Plover on Friday, August 29, 2003. =
Their
7:00 p.m. concert
at St. Bronislava Church, 3200 Plover Road, is free and open to the =
public.
(A free will offering will be taken to cover their expenses.) These =
world
class players, who bring to the stage unique Russian arrangements and
transpositions of timeless melodies, return home to Russia on September =
1.
They've performed previously in Stevens Point at Michelsen Concert Hall =
and
at Frame Presbyterian Church. =20

'Joyful' is the word that audiences use to describe the Trio's =
presentation
of classical, inspirational, and pop standards. "The Kat Trio" has =
spent
the past four summers in the United States, performing more than 250
concerts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Chicago, Denver, =
Lincoln,
Des Moines, Milwaukee, Madison, and numerous small communities across =
the
Upper Midwest, impressing audiences with their exceptional arrangements,
artistic interpretations, and captivating technique. In March and April
2003 the Trio performed 20 concerts in California, including a special
appearance at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove for the "Hour of =
Power"
telecast. =20

The Ekaterinburg Trio, www.thekattrio.net, is Victoria Gorbich, =
Vladislav
Gorbich and Vasil Galiulin, all graduates of the Ural State Music
Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, Russia. They have released four CDs in =
the
U.S. - "20th Century Masters" (classical), "The Kat Trio in America"
(American standards), "On Eagles' Wings" (inspirational) and "Serenade =
for
Three" (classical), which was designated CD of the Week by Wisconsin =
Public
Radio during its first week of release in December 2002. "Serenade"
spotlights unique trio arrangements of classical composers Glazunov,
Tchaikovsky, Rakhmaninov, and Shostakovitch, and includes a piece =
written
for violin-clarinet-piano by American composer Peter Schickele, aka PDQ
Bach. Their new CD "The Kat Trio - Live", released on August 1, 2003,
features music from all the genres they embrace and includes solo
performances.

The Trio's concert performances feature classical works, well-known
inspirational songs, and even American pop standards, including Scott
Joplin's rags.
