Bill I agree with you.
Some years ago I have been comparing my (on that time) new RC Prestige
clarinet with an old R13 from a old professor. The results were that all
qualities and bad things were in both instruments: Buffet didn't do any
modification to improve their clarinets.
In my oppinion it shows that Buffet have been living just from its name,
with out any concern to improve its quality - a shamed ;(
