I'll agree with you wholeheartedly. I might think about a quality or
feature I would like a clarinet to have ahead of time, but I might =
discover
something I hadn't thought about if I had the opportunity to try some
different brands. I had a Bundy to start, then went to a Selmer Signet, =
and
then a Buffet R-13 in college days at the recommendation of a teacher. =
I've
been playing that R-13 ever since and what's missing for me is the
opportunities to try different instruments, with the exception of the
Leblanc A clarinet I borrow from our local high school to use for =
orchestral
work and I'll have to say if I was ever given the opportunity to =
purchase
that Leblanc I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. My R-13 has been overhauled
several times and I love it but how would I know if anything else might =
work
better for me? I also tend to recommend the same clarinet to students =
only
due to the fact that it's the one I've had the most experience with. =
Now if
several different companies were to offer me the opportunity to try out
their clarinets I'd be in a better position to recommend others also. =
In my
opinion that is probably the missing link for many of us. Christy =
