I must say that I completely disagree. This is simply not a valid
comparison.

The price difference between the lowest priced and highest priced
professional clarinets (excluding the German ones) is only about 2x. The
price of all professional clarinets are lower than all other professional
woodwind and string instruments (possibly excluding saxophones). In
addition, the price of the major manufactures' brands are all about the same.

I don't think that professionals and most serious adult amateurs are making
their selection based on price.
