Subj: [kl] Buffet vs. Everyone

The bottom line is the bottom line... MOST
professional players in the USA and France play
Buffet. Why? Because of a misguided tradition? I
doubt it. There are many awesome players who CHOOSE
to play Buffet for a reason. We love the underdog in
this country, that's why I believe there is so much
uproar about this topic. Great players can play on
anything. As was mentioned, the former Met Opera
clarinetists played Selmers and Leblanc. Did you know
Ricardo played Buffet for some time in the Met? It's
almost a sin to admit playing and liking Buffet
better. It seems the "non Buffet" players promote this
competition for some reason. Embrace the Buffet...
embrace it! lol

The R-13 is far from a perfect horn, but no brand can
lay claim to that. The negative aspect of this
discussion could be exactly what the manufacturers
want. It's like negative political campaigns... say
the other guy is bad to make you look good. To wrap
it up, it seems to me like BUFFET is always getting
the short end of the ugly stick when it comes to this
debate. Just like in life, when you are on top, there
is always someone trying to push you off. :)
