I've never come across Leitner&Kraus, but they're fairly newly on the
market in a substantial way, isn't that true? What's the waiting list
like?

Apropos Wurlitzers, I do remember doing a clarinet masterclass at the
Hague, I suppose over 10 years ago, and wishing that I had more
experience of playing Wurlitzer Reform Boehm. As you can probably
imagine, it's sometimes true that a small change in how an instrument is
set up can help a student a lot, and if you don't know how the
instrument is spozed to behave, you can't make that small change, or
offer that suggestion -- or if your mouthpiece (always assuming it
works:-) isn't designed for that sort of instrument, you can't let them
try it -- or whatever.

Anyhow, there is of course a lot else to say even without knowing the
instrument in detail; but finally a girl did stand up to play,
holding....a Buffet.

"Ah, finally an instrument I know a little bit about!" I said.

She looked at me. "Yes, well....I'm getting my *proper* instruments
next week," she said.
