I've often wondered about this myself. Why is it that Buffet players, and
it seems ONLY Buffet players, insist upon having their horns "Brannenized,"
getting different barrels, etc.? It is like raving about a particular
brand of automobile as being superior to all others, but, after buying one,
driving it immediately to a private mechanic to have the engine,
transmission, brakes, and steering replaced! Just exactly what WAS
superior about it? If they need all that help to correct their inherent
deficiencies (stuffiness, intonation discrepancies, etc.), wouldn't it be
easier to just buy a different brand in the first place, and peer pressure
to play Buffet be damned?

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
