Subj: [kl] transition from throat notes to B or C
Date: Sat, 23 Aug 2003 12:27:50 -0400

I wrote a note a few weeks ago asking for advice on
the transition to B and C. After reading the replies
I did some experimenting and I think I found my
problem. I was squeezing the reed to hard. I started
out by conciously releasing pressure on the reed for B
and C. After some practice at this it became
automatic. Now B and C and the transition to them is
a lot better than it used to be. I am puzzled that I
did not figure this out before. I should add that I
play on a reed that most people would consider
somewhat soft so other people who have this problem
might not find my discovery usefull.
