The table is flat and beginning about 18+mm from the tip of the
mouthpiece the facing begins to curve open. It opens faster the closer
you get to the tip. This is for all mouthpieces. Many mouthpiece
makers add a dip in the table of various shapes and depths. I
play on a mouthpiece which is asymetrical (left side of the curve is
more open), and has a slight dip in it. These options are enjoyed by
some players, but not all.

Thanks

Dave

Prof. McCune: When I re-read carefully, the page emphasizes flat
tables, not flat facings. Without intending to ask proprietary
questions, does this mean that some mouthpiece tables/facings consist
entirely of flat planes (that intersect) and others don't?
