I am influenced by Arthur Hutchings's dislike of
genteelisms, elegencies, archaisms and literalisms.
Inverted snobbery? So we should have hippopotomuses,
hiatuses, tuttis, rondos, sonatas, lacunas, emporiums,
honorariums, concertos, but only exceptionally concerti grossi! :-O
So it is generally a lapsus linguae.
M for myrmidon.
