A CHRISTMAS CONCERT (author unknown)
> The snow was falling thick and fast,
> Deep on the ground it lay,
> And so, as we could not go out,
> We stayed at home to play.
> "What shall we play at?' said we all;
> And we at last agreed
> A Christmas Morning concert would
> Be jolly fun indeed.
> And so we sat down in a row,
> Wee Mary in the middle;
> Jack with the poker and the tongs
> Played sweetly on the fiddle.
> Bob took the battered old tea-tray,
> And beat it like a drum;
> A tin plate was the tambourine
> Ned twirled upon his thumb.
