Why use Windows instead of Apple/Mac whatever?

Well, truthfully, I had to use Windows at work. For over ten years I had work-supplied laptops that had the ever progressing series of Windows OS.

Like most people using a work-issued PC, I also used it for personal stuff; games, e-mail, whatever. My work (software and consulting) involved extended travel, so it had to be this way.

For most of this time, I didn't even own my own computer. Why bother?

But anyway, I "learned" Windows, by having to use it everyday at work for over a decade.

I actually don't like Windows. As a former computer programmer (IBM mid-range, AS/400), Windows frustrates me. I want a coherent, consistent set of commands to configure and administer my computer. What Microsoft gives us is, in my opinion, an incoherent mass of crap.

Whenever I had to work on a MAc, I liked it even less. I just couldn't get to anything. I felt totally locked out....

Maybe I should learn Linux............

LOL. Back to clarinet topics.

Walter
