I am just now emerging from a week of computer/e-mail hell.

On or about August 8, my computer became unstable, re-booting itself constantly.

Of course I suspected a virus or worm, but Norton anti-virus found nothing, even after repeated definition downloads and virus scans.

Dell support worked ..... well tried to work...manfully, but after endless diagnostics, debugs, disk re-formats and reinstalling windows three times, they were finally stumped.

I'm on a loaner computer now, and I think I have the problem solved - a failing power source - but I lost over a week of productivity.

For those waiting for shipments from me, I can only say my apologies, and I am now getting back to normal...slowly. Luckily, I was able to backup all my data.

The worse part of the whole episode was not being able to post to the clarinet list. So many topics, so much to say, and I couldn't get there.........

Anyway, I'm back, and a little wiser..and feeling much older!
