Well, we all understand that any topic can be carried too far; but....

Music *DOES* depend on our perceptions and experiences and our
interpretations thereof. Discussion that completely excludes such
topics is similar to putting blinders on a horse -- necessary in certain
situations, but definitely less than a complete experience for the
horse, and probably a barrier to complete performance.

In particular, I am reminded of the story that someone posted here once
about music students who wore 'blinders'. Those who wish to keep too
tight a rein on what we say here would be well served to read the post
and to think one step beyond the post's closing statement. IMO, of
course.
