Hi Wendy,

Believe it or not I work at a community college and am required to take
computer training. But the training is for the tasks that I am authorized
to do on my computer in my office. Since I have no administrative rights,
I am not allowed to do ant of the things we have been discussing. The last
real Windows training I had was for Windows 95. Windows 2000 is vastly
different. Also, the fact that I don't do this stuff repeatedly makes it
difficult to remember how it all works. I took higher math courses in
school, but since I don't use the skills, I have forgotten how to do most
of the math processes I learned. How often do you have to update your
skills? The computer business changes so rapidly that I can't keep
up. This is why companies hire people with your skills. I run a pool that
is computerized but our IT staff has no idea how it runs and can't help me
when it malfunctions. I can run my pool but I am not so certain that you
could. So when things get hairy, I call the people who installed it to
help me out. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to keep up with all of
this stuff. I work during the day and teach in the afternoon and then go
to rehearsal at night. It would be great if I could "know it all", but I
don't, so I depend on others to help me with what I don't know.
