"I just heard a note, and now I want to play a fourth higher than what I
just heard. Okay. What I heard was 12 cents above concert C, and
therefore I want to play 12 cents above concert F. But since I'm
playing a Bb clarinet, I'll need to transpose....."

There isn't enough time (or need) to do all of this thinking while
you're playing. "Ear training" means to hear the note and then to
raise it by a fourth without needing to identify the note by name or
frequency.

People with perfect pitch are sometimes bothered when a group isn't
tuned to exactly A=440 (lots of reasons why this may happen), and
everything sounds just a bit 'off'. In this sense, having perfect
pitch can be a disadvantage, not an advantage.
