Dear Paul,

I'm trying to learn jazz too, what a challenge! I find that going back to
learn those scales and chords/arpeggios that I turned my nose at when I was
young helps a lot. Also, playing around on the chords written above the
staff for guitarists and pianists works for me. My pitch is and always has
been abysmal. It's sad but true that our accordion player has to tell me
when I'm sharp or flat!
