Gosh, Tony, that sounds like some of the bar-room stories in my sordid
career. I hope he didn't get hurt too badly.
I have not heard of either of those clarinetists. I really was
hoping that you had recorded it. I don't like hardly anybody's
recordings. I once was looking for a decent recording of the Finzi
Bagatelles and the only one I could find was Emma Johnson. The recording
made me so ill that I was not in my usual jovial spirit to teach my
students. I ended up giving away the CD to somebody who couldn't tell
the difference between good and bad clarinet playing, I thought. The
person I gave it to also became ill.
I guess I'll just search and see what I find. Thank you for your
time. It is such a nice piece. You would think that more people wanted
to record it. Maybe I'll record it myself. It's one of the few pieces
that I can play. I can't play the Weber Concerti because I am too lazy
to learn them. ANNIE
