Be careful here. It sounds as if you are advocating buying a mouthpiece
that will match the reed strength you wish to use. That is putting the
cart before the horse. Use the reed strength that works for the
mouthpiece, and if it is a little less stiff than what your buddies use,
you need not feel wimpy about it. But don't buy a shirt because it matches
some old buttons you have. You can always buy new buttons.

That being said, however, trying out more than one of the same model of
stock mouthpiece, if possible, is a good idea. And try them with several
different strength reeds!
